Job Summary

You will follow regularly scheduled routes and respond to requests from dispatch or management for designated pick-ups or drop-offs. This includes pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, fueling and cleaning the vehicle at the end of your shift, and accurately recording and submitting all required information. A CDL is NOT required to apply. You will be required to obtain a Class B CDL with passenger endorsement within 30 days of employment.

Transportation Driver Responsibilities:

  • Drive shuttle vehicles to and from requested destinations
  • Maintain vehicles in a neat and clean manner
  • Entertain guests
  • Present facts about the region’s natural and human history
  • Provide a positive role model for children and facilitate kid-friendly activities
  • Be a steward of the natural areas in which we travel

Transportation Driver Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a High School Diploma
  • Have a Motor Vehicle Record (list of traffic offenses) from your state’s DMV that meets company safety standards
  • Be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
  • Be able to read, understand, and comprehend all company and regulatory agency forms and documents
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen (required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration)
  • Be able to pass a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and obtain a DOT medical card – out of pocket expense for the applicant
  • Be able to lift up to 60lbs
  • Have a clean post-offer background check
  • Obtain a NC commercial driver’s license (CDL) within 30 days of employment (unless already a valid CDL holder)
